This building provided a 5,800 sf addition to the existing 4,600 sf building located at Vasona Park in Los Gatos, CA. The modest exterior was chosen to match the existing building.
The inside expansion is more dramatic; it features vaulted ceilings and skylights which bring natural light to the interior. Required to accommodate 36 employees, the design included a conference room, kitchenette with lunchroom, restrooms with showers and storage facilities, and areas for a reference library and blueprint and reproduction activities. Standard issue County work stations and furniture were employed for space planning and interior design.
A temporary portable building was provided in concert with a phased construction program to enable staff to be fully operational during construction of the expansion. Client: County of Santa Clara, Construction Services Division.
